About Push Chess

Push chess is a chess variant in which pieces are not merely captured. Instead, they can be pushed around the board. Victory is achieved when an opponent's king is pushed over the edge.

Push chess is unique among chess variants:

  • It isn't completely winning for white, allowing only a modest advantage for the first player

  • It's complex, but not so complex you could never master it

  • You don't need 3 chess sets to play Push Chess, it uses the normal set of pieces

  • It has its own unique strategy, so tactical tricks don't decide every match

  • Its rules aren't completely random, but instead designed somewhat intuitively

Because of these traits and many others, the game is an awesome alternative to chess. You should try it out! All of the rules are available on this site, so you can learn to play.
